Colorado is home to one of the largest primary producers of molybdenum in the world - the Henderson Mine and Mill located in Clear Creek and Grand Counties. When both the direct and indirect benefits of mining are considered, the industry in Colorado contributes about $8 billion to the state's economy. Colorado's mining industry directly employs 5,000 persons in the mining industry and generates more than 5,162 jobs in related industries such as engineering, consulting, finance, transportation, geotechnical and utility services, according to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. Colorado ranks 3rd among the states in mineral royalty receipts; in 2004, the state received $90 million in coal, other mineral, oil and gas production royalties, half of which are used to fund public schools. Mineral severance taxes support local governments and important state programs, such as the geologic hazard detection and avalanche prediction and prevention.

Gold mining in Colorado has been an industry since 1859. Today, gold mining still has a tremendous influence on the Colorado region. Currently in Colorado, interests in several gold properties are being advanced. The Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Co., a subsidiary of Anglo Gold, operates the largest open pit and heap leach gold mine in the state of Colorado, including the most productive gold mine in Colorado's modern history, the Cresson Mine, which produced more than 8.8 tonnes (283,000 troy ounces) of gold in 2006. Other active gold mines in the state are underground the Golden Wonder mine near Lake City, and the Cash and Rex mines in the Gold Hill mining district in Boulder County.

The Pride of the West Mill is a modern gravity, flotation and cyanide leach mill located on 120 acres, with offices, laboratory and water rights. The Mill has the capacity to refine up to 700 short tons per day. The Gold King, Mayflower and Mogul mines are all within a nine-mile radius of the Pride of the West Mill with good roads connecting the mines to the mill.

Colorado Goldfields acquired the Pride of the West Mill for $900,000 and the assumption of $300,000 in reclamation permit bond requirements. The mill was valued over $12M. Historically, milling operations in Southwestern Colorado similar in scope to the Pride of the West Mill have generated from $5 million to $15 million annual gross revenue and typically are profitable in the first year of operations

The comprehensive re-activation plan has several components developed collaboratively with the Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety that includes a new pond high water line and re-grading for proper drainage for sand tailings or inert material from the upper pond and a new perforated piping system that will constantly monitor the ground water level.

The stockpile pad at the mill entrance, after drainage verification, will then be ready to accept new ore.

Re-activating the assay lab at the mill includes the installation of an electronic microbalance for weighing the doré (semi-purified gold), beads derived from the fire assay and the gold bead remaining after the silver in the doré is dissolved, and an inductively coupled plasma atomic absorption spectrographic machine.

Located 8 miles from Silverton, Colorado, the Gold King property is in the heart of a longstanding gold-producing area. The property consists of approximately 170 acres and has known gold potential.

In an independent geologist's report, MPH Consultants reported that surveys have identified several prospective targets with potential for hosting large tonnage, primary gold mineralization. An advanced evaluation report completed in 1990 by MPH Consultants also listed proven, probable and potential reserves of approximately 1.4 million short tons at 0.29 ozs/st Au and 2.64 ozs/st Ag. (S.E.C. compliant reserves in 1990 were 116,000 ounces of gold). The company will attempt to verify and expand these now historic reserve and resource figures.

Approximately 20,000 short tons of ore were produced by a joint venture with Echo Bay Mines' adjoining Sunnyside Gold Mine in 1990, with the Gold King Mine in stasis since that date. Very little base metals exist in the deposit, and a large part of the projected values may be produced in an unrefined gold product from the mill. The historic production from the Gold King Mine in 1895-1920 was approximately 345,000 ounces of gold, 1.4 million ounces of silver, at approximate grades of 0.50 ozs/st gold and 3 ozs/st silver.

Colorado Goldfields is currently reinterpreting the known geological data and models for the Gold King Mine and intends to conduct geophysics program, as well as surface drilling, to determine next steps towards production within the next two to three years. The Company anticipates it will also conduct underground exploration and development on Gold King to expand the reserve and resource base.

The Mayflower Mine consists of approximately 250 acres of mineral rights located in the heart of the San Juan county gold-producing region, about 3 miles from Silverton. Access to the mine is by a good gravel road.

The Mayflower Mine had a historic production of approximately 520,000 ounces of gold and 12.3 million ounces of silver from 1929-1953. The value of precious metals produced during that period would be the equivalent of US $581 million at current metals prices. In the late 1980s, Echo Bay Mines conducted limited exploration of the property which identified the continuation of historic ore grades below the main haulage way. The financial difficulties of Echo Bay Mines precluded placing the property into planned large-scale underground mining operation.

The Mogul Mine is situated on property that is located in the heart of the San Juan County gold fields and proven gold producing ground, 8 miles from Silverton. The Mogul Mine is a high-grade zinc/lead/silver property that adjoins both the Gold King Mine and the Sunnyside Mine. The property was active from 1901-1909 as a precious metals mine, and has not had the benefit of exploration activity in modern times.

The Mogul Mine has the potential to host a considerable tonnage of ore, and is the continuation of the George Washington vein of the Sunnyside Mine (Kinross Gold), which accounted for a large part of Sunnyside's base metal production.

The historic ore grade from the Mogul is approximately 6.5% zinc, 4% lead, 0.75% copper and varied precious metal content. Vein widths of up to 50 feet have been reported and an average approximate width of 8 to10 feet appears on the surface.
