Array BioPharma Inc.
Array BioPharma is a small biopharmaceutical company out of Boulder Colorado. Its staff of 348 focuses on the discovery and development of small molecule drugs to treat cancer, inflammatory and metabolic diseases. Today the World Market Media team listened in on the annual conference call.
- Array’s asset priority is for partnerships
- Research and Discovery is moving full speed ahead into the new year
- Command of a deep pipeline of discovery level drugs
More Details:
- Array’s priority asset is their partnerships and the development of their drugs. The predominant partner currently is Amgen who provided a “Balance Sheet Saving” 60 Million in upfront payment as well as the promise of milestone payments and double digit royalties. Other partners include: Roche, AstroZeneca, and Eli Lilly

- Array’s R&D team is hard at work in Boulder focusing on 4 major drugs: 162, 380,543 and 520. The primary focus of the call was on 162 and Amgem supported 403. 162 has received positive results in clinical trials, numbing pain as well as encouraging weight gain with little negative side effects in patients. ARRY plans on expanding its neck inhibitor program due to a growing need in the U.S. and over 78,000 cases in Japan. In other news, the 403 phase 2 trials is said to begin sometime this year. Visibility will be clearer of the actual date after a meeting with Amgen this week.
- Array, is focused on creating partnerships in order to fund its deep pipeline of discovery level drugs, over $30 million is provided for annual research. Guidance states that 10 million in milestones are expected for this year. This number is forecasted to double in the next. Revenue for the company was the highest in 3 years.
Array was $1.75 back in September, reaching the proverbial "bottom", the sky is the limit for this small cap pharma company. Array will remain innovative with its small elite team of developers. It will be important for these larger BioTech companies to be aware of the smallcap R&D environment and not “miss the boat” on a discovery level drug making its way through the pipeline. We wish them the best in their effort to create a “better living through Chemistry”
