Stocks were generally weak in Asia overnight. The Nikkei lost one percent, the Hang Seng dropped 1.4% and Shanghai was off about 2.4%; one of the few to show a gain was Australia which added a third of a percent. European indexes generally had a rough morning but are recovering on the session, with the Footsie and Dax both down by just a fraction. US stock futures are unchanged as I write.

Stocks were mixed in Asian trade. The Nikkei was up a half percent and Australia gained a third; But the Hang Seng fell 0.7% and Shanghai lost a half percent. European indexes are generally higher, but are being buffeted a series of conflicting stories on the chances of a Greece bailout. Currently the Footsie and Dax are up by about 0.65% on the session. US stock futures are trading up by more than a half percent as I write.

Stocks generally closed higher in Asia. Although Shanghai lost a fraction, the Hang Seng and Australia both gained about one percent and the Nikkei was up a fraction. The same for Europe, with the Dax and Footsie both showing a gain of about two thirds of a percent. US stock futures are essentially unchanged as I write.

European indexes are generally lower; the Footsie is down a third percent and the Dax is off by a fraction. US stock futures are currently lower by a half to two thirds of a percent.
